M Cantina is a great spot for gourmet Mexican food. My friends and I split the chips and salsa quad which is a great shareable. I ordered the soup as well that really hit the spot! We also had several orders of tacos that everyone enjoyed. Service was a bit slower that day but understandable. Ambiance here is great!
We have wanted to go to this restaurant since it opened. Last night we did & it was amazing!! My wife and I looked at each other and asked, what took us so long to experience M Cantina? Our wait person Gene was personable & really knew the menu & drinks. Creative cocktails & beautifully presented food. That was outstanding in flavor. This is not your ordinary Mexican food. Totally upscale almost white tablecloth dining. Largest selection of Tequila you will ever find. I asked Gene for a recommendation after dinner for a Tequila Digestivo . Spot on perfect way to end a really good food experience. The owner has a real gem of a restaurant! Best of luck, we look forward to our next visit. Steven & Faye- Steven Bernard Jewelers
I stumbled across M Cantina and was pleasantly surprised at how high quality this restaurant was. Came for the margaritas left with a forever date night spot. The corn was spectacular it wasn't your classic cotija and mayo either. The quad chips and salsa dip was amazing as well, I'm in love with the black bean queso. Our margaritas were beautiful especially mine with the real roses included. I was excited for the ceviche which was terrible but a bit too sweet for me, next time I'll request more jalapeño, the shrimp and scallop portions were good. The bar itself was insane, according to our host it's the biggest tequila bar in the country with their most expensive bottle being a Patron that $2500 a shot. Can wait to revisit and try the entree menu.
I ordered the braised short rib tacos. This was my first time trying mole and they were phenomenal. The prices aren't cheap, but I will definitely be back!!
Very strict " policies" like no outside food/drink (I had to put my bottled water in my purse or take it back to the car, no substitutions, no photos or videos of the restaurant without owner permission). Food was good, be aware of smaller portions.
It's small & quaint and for some possibly a bit pricey but the service and the food were amazing. Our server was so thorough and kind, he explained the menu and cocktail menu fluently. We actually chose 2 of his recommendations that we enjoyed. The salsa de frijol was DELICIOUS and the roasted tomato salsa too. I ordered the Chiles Rellenos Tacos that were Amazing, the flavor was definitely there. I will lost certainly be back for more
the best thing here is the food - YUM. I felt like I was sitting in Polanco in Mexico City with this level of gourmet food. the salsas/guac included with the chips were insanely good, I would have been happy if that were my only part of my meal. strawberry lemonade was DELICIOUS! topped with strawberry chunks and a lemon slice. the tlayuda was also very delicious. not pictured, but the chocolate lava cake we got at the end was to die for. I'm drooling just thinking about it. the cecina tacos were slightly underwhelming after the delicious apps. but I can't wait to come back and try many of their other yummy sounding food items!
Such a cool place! Please be aware that reservations are required. I was able to make one on the spot, and was seated upstairs. An extremely helpful server explained the specials and gave some of her recommendations. I went with some chips and salsa to start with. These aren't complimentary, but they are so good, that I didn't mind. They were freshly fried, still warm, and properly salted. The chips come with guacamole, a black bean dip, pico, and a salsa. I really like the guacamole, though it was spicy! The black bean dip was also delicious. The salsa seemed superfluous as I was presented with a tray of 20 different salsas, ranging from mild peanut to super hot (don't remember the name). I really liked the aioli flavored salsa, but it was hot! I ordered the short rib tacos, and they were good. I wish the mole bbq sauce tasted more of mole, and less of like bbq, but that's just because I'm not a huge bbq sauce fan. The tacos were delicious with a combination of the avocado salsa and serrano salsa (suggested by my server). I would order these again, but there's lots of other things I'd like to try first.
Do you like tequila? Do you want upscale Mexican food that tastes great? Then get on over to M Cantina. The craft cocktails mixed by nationally renowned mixologist, Junior Moreno, is also a bonus. This place could easily be a five star restaurant. The only thing that makes it less is that they insist that you must have a reservation and makes you put up a card to make one. And the way they try to enforce it, especially when the restaurant is empty on slow days is very off putting. But... and this is a serious but, the food and drinks will make you forget any bad taste that's left in your mouth from the host stand experience. The decor is culturally themed and gives the place a really authentic feel. There is dining room seating with a nice view of the kitchen, a bar, an outdoor patio, and an upstairs with room for larger groups. They have the largest tequila collection around and they will split a pour in two to share which makes for a nice date night tasting experience. The food is simply amazing! Hands down the best tacos I've ever had. Enough said. Trust me. Go here. You will love it.
